Turn Scraps into Clusters

This year I made a few new crafting goals.

One of these is to quickly create with scraps - extra die cuts or any remaining pieces from a project. I've been taking a few minutes to do this, while cleaning up, instead of stashing them, typically never to be seen again.

Today is a great example of this goal giving wings to creativity! So, I thought I would share.

It is so quick and easy to create a cluster, when you already have all your supplies out from whatever project you just completed.

In this case, I had Seasons of Green & Gold scraps & die cuts left after making several kits for 3D treat boxes  ...

So, instead of trying to squirrel them away somewhere, I just started to group them together.

I created a cluster, turned a negative-space scrap into a little tag, and was about to add it to my little divider box of just such creations, when I noticed one more 3" strip on my table.

Having just bought some blank journals, my mind went to that.  Hmmm ... could I?  Would the measurements work out okay? Never hurts to try!

I laid the cluster on the strip, then wrapped the strip wrapped around the journal cover, and I swear, it nearly shouted a big yes

To tie it altogether, I ran a piece of soft white cardstock through the 3D Birch embossing folder, and then just tacked it all together with glue, and a trusty triangle of bling.

Whether my scrap clusters go to wait in my little storage box of creations, or end up right on the front of a tag, card, or journal, this one little crafting goal has brought so much joy this year.

Have you ever tried creating with your remaining pieces before putting a project away?  I'd love to hear from you!

Interested on any of these products?  I so appreciate the "follows", "subscribes" and orders placed at http://stampinup.com when you add me as a Demonstrator.

I hope you learned something new today, and we'll see you in the next one.
